Regular readers of this blog will have noticed that I haven’t posted any new entries for a couple of days. For this I have to thank my lovely little daughter (there is a touch of sarcasm in there). My lovely girl decided to go wild on my laptop and she has corrupted the network settings so I am having great difficulty connecting to the net.
Kids, huh?!
Anyway, there’s been some amazing things happening, the most wonderful of which has been all the emails I have been getting from readers. It’s fantastic, I can’t tell you how excited I get every time I connect with a reader, I am loving it! It’s really easy to get in touch with me, there’s a link to a contact form at the top of this page. I would really, seriously love to hear from you. I’d like to apologise to the readers who I have been communicating with and haven’t emailed back yet, but once I get my laptop fixed I will be firing on all cylinders and would love to stay in touch.
This lunchtime I met another blogger who lives in Oaxaca and we chatted over coffee. She was absolutely lovely and I can’t wait to hook up with her again. Then this afternoon I came down with some kind of stomach bug and I have been feeling really lousy. It takes me back to one of my pre-trip worries about what would happen if I got ill on the road, because as a single parent family, if something happens to me, who’s going to look after Katie? I am going to write a post about this in the next few days and share how we have dealt with illness on the road.
There’s been another development over the past few days since I last updated which is that Katie is now enrolled in Spanish school, she hasn’t started yet, but will next week and she is sooo excited!
Ok, I am off now to take some medicine and rest and just lie very still in a darkened room with my emergency bucket next to the bed!

Here’s to hoping that you and the computer are up and running and doing much better. I really am enjoying your blogs.
How exciting that Miss Katie is enrolling in Spanish class/school. I used to teach Spanish (my major) but that was years ago. It’s true: “Don’t use it, you lose it…” I can speak well enough to save my life, but it ain’t a pretty site!
Take care of yourself and enjoy a lovely day. Lisa

I hope you (and your computer) are feeling better soon – I’m sure that must be really stressful for you.
My mom took me to Italy for 9 months when I was 9 and she was sick for a solid month while we were there. I’m sure that it must have been really hard on her! Fortunately she was enrolled in an art school and a lot of the other students kept an eye on me and my sister.

Hi Mara – Italy is amazing! Do you remember anything of it? I sometimes wonder how much Katie will remember of this trip with her being only seven when we left the UK, so it will be interesting to know how much you recall.
Luckily, good fortune has always shone on us if ever I have been under the weather and there have been other people around to watch Katie. This stomach bug thing went away as quickly as it had come on thankfully, my biggest bug bear right now is that the internet connection here has become weird and I can hardly ever connect to the internet, I feel so out of touch now!
Lisa, Hi! I was up and running before the computer was, it’s still not working properly, but it’s the internet connection, not my laptop. It’s frustrating as I have a lot of posts I want to write and I can’t get on the net to update the blog. Everything should be sorted out this week, so watch out for a deluge of things to read!
