Katie’s Top Ten Places

Tel Aviv Beach

Tel Aviv Beach

Katie has been asking for a while to have more of an input with articles and she has given me a list of her favourite places with an explanation of why.

The list is actually eleven places long as Katie couldn’t decide on just ten!

1. Tel Aviv, Israel
I loved the beach although we got sunburnt very badly. Every Friday there was a family friendly beach party that we went to while we were there. We stayed in a great hostel and bumped into another couchsurfer who we had met in Jerusalem.

2. Jerusalem, Israel
I loved our couchsurfing hosts, the mum was from the U.S. but her children had been born in israel. There were lots of beautiful old buildings and we went to a 4D cinema which told us the history of Jerusalem and the chairs moved and we got squirted with water which made my mummy shriek.

3. Oaxaca, Mexico
I like Oaxaca because it is very, very beautiful and everyone who reads this should try and visit!

4. Mexico City, Mexico
I went to a summer camp for three weeks and made lots of friends, especially a little girl called Lulu who was my best friend and also Ximena, who was another girl in the group.

5. Istanbul, Turkey
Istanbul is one of my favourite places because the people there speak Turkish and I can speak a little Turkish luckily, but I can’t remember any of it now.

6. New York City, U.S.
I love New York! Everyone speaks English and there is lots of things to do there, it also has the best childrens’ playgrounds I have ever seen, some of them had water fountains and you could get wet and have fun, it was also a good way of staying cool.

7. Los Angeles, U.S.
Los Angeles is one of my favourite place, more than New York City,  because I met lovely people there and they were so nice and I made best friends with the daughter of our couchsurfing hosts.

8. Ubud, Bali
Ubud is great because it is very good for children and we went on walks through the rice paddies and there was also really good places to eat.

9. Aleppo, Syria
Aleppo was my favourite because the man who owned the tour agency in our hotel was really nice and helped us a lot when we could not get money from our ATM.

10. Las Vegas, U.S.
Las Vegas was very very nice because we stayed in Circus, Circus that had a theme park inside it and the hotel was huge and very expensive. They had circus shows too. I also really liked the musical fountain outside the Bellagio.

11. Stamford, C.T., U.S.
Stamford was great because we stayed with friends there whose son I had gone to school with back home in England and it was really nice seeing them again and I played lots with him and his brother.
