Got the clothes, Get the language! Learning Spanish

We are really taking going to Mexico seriously! Yesterday while we were out we stocked up on a Spanish dictionary and a Spanish language course. We checked out Spanish for Gringos, yeah there really is a book by that name! But it wasn’t in depth enough. I whittled it down to a Berlitz book with accompanying cd or a great book by a New York based Spanish teacher, but then as the indecisive shopper that I am, I bought a Living Languages course with book, learners dictionary and four cds.

I know a little bit of Spanish already from a crash course I did in Spain a few years ago and absolutely love the language. I’ve found that I have been able to skip past the first couple of lessons and today I am going to really knuckle down.

Through the wonderful community of people at Couchsurfing.org I have found a room in an apartment for a month in Mexico City. We were going to spend a couple of weeks there and really slow our pace of travel down, because even spending a week in one pace Katie feels the strain, however after finding this apartment we are going to spend a month although we have the option of staying there till the end of the year!

Ok….Now for my next Spanish lesson…..
